Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept health insurance. If you wish to seek potential reimbursement from your insurance company, I can provide you with a “superbill” which is a detailed invoice outlining the services you received. Speak with your insurance company to determine your reimbursement plan for out-of-network providers.

For helpful information on what questions you might ask your insurance company, check out this article written by a colleague.

How much does a session cost? What payment do you accept?

Individual Session: $175 per 50 minute appointment

Couples Session: $200 per 50 minute appointment

Along with most major credit cards, payment may be made using a HSA/FSA card. At this time, I do not offer a sliding scale.

What appointment times do you have available?

I offer appointments Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30AM-2:00PM. During the consultation call, we can discuss additional details regarding which appointment times are available.

How often are appointments?

I see clients weekly or biweekly. I do not see new clients monthly as I have found this does not allow us the consistency needed to meet your therapeutic goals.

Can we work together if I am not in South Carolina?

I hold a license only in South Carolina. Unfortunately, if you are not physically located in the state of South Carolina at the time of our appointment, we cannot work together.

What should I expect in the first session?

We review policies related to counseling and discuss any concerns you have about the intake paperwork. I will also ask many questions to better understand you and the problems you are facing. Together we will begin to create goals for what you would like accomplish while in therapy.
