About Emmie (she/her)
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC (#9857), with a master's degree in clinical counseling psychology from The Citadel. I'm passionate about helping people heal and live the full, beautiful lives they deserve.

Some of my most rewarding work has been working with new parents. I am certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International which means I have received advanced training in helping clients navigate their way through parenthood.

Before pursing counseling, I was an English teacher and continue to be a voracious reader. I often recommend books and other resources to clients to aid in the therapeutic process.

I live in Charleston with my husband, daughter, and cat, Shere. In my free time, I love baking and gardening.
About New Morning Counseling
The inspiration for New Morning Counseling's name is from Mary Oliver's "Morning Poem" in which she describes the hope she feels in a new morning even

if your spirit
carries within it
the thorn
that is heavier than lead.

My goal is that counseling helps you find hope again.
